NDB Cluster
NDB Cluster is a distributed DBMS that backs the MySQL Cluster product. It can be used independently of a MySQL via a C++ API.
History
Development on NDB ("Network DataBase") began in the 1990s by Mikael Ronström at Ericsson. Ericsson later spun the NDB project out as a start-up called Alzato, which the MySQL AB company acquired in 2003.
